Review of Sally Hansen's Nail Thickener

Please note, I brought this myself. It was not a gift. I read all about G + L and I think those 'big companies' are just trying to be difficult. We all give honest reviews. Are you gonna put listening devices at Starbucks to see who verbally disses your product? Take the critics and just grow up.

Anyway, this product was kinda meh. Yes, my nails were much harder when it was on. I would say even 10 times harder. But when I cleaned it off, my nails were only marginally harder (2 times).

Pros
  • Does work VERY well when it's on
  • Can be used as a base coat.
  • Dries fast
Cons
  • No miracle in a bottle (but we all know that)
  • Although can be used as a basecoat, I experienced major chipping. Even from my good polishes.
  • Solution is a bit goopy and thick. Hard to manage.
  • When it dries, it remains a little bumpy. Wonder what that it?
So, I haven't painted my nails much last week. I have been feeling a bit down.

One of my really good friends is sick and it's really breaking my heart.
Everytime I look at property, the prices shot up.

*sigh*

But! This week will be better! *positive thinking*

So, here's a really funny video! Argh argh argh ahhhhhh!

Sally Hansen's Miracle Nail Thickener

I have 2 major problems with my nails.

1. I have dry cuticles.
2. They are thin and weak.

So I decided to try this. I have put it on my NAKED nails as a basecoat. It has been a week. They feel the same to me.

I am gonna continue. With crossed fingers.

I will review it in a few weeks. Let's give this a chance.

Swaps!

Hi all!

This is my 'willing-to-swap' list.

Some of the nail polishes have been swatched once, some are used (like 20% gone), and some look used but if we swap, I will go out and buy a new bottle for you! I shall indicate where and what and if that is the bottle you are getting a a new one. :)

Just a warning: A lot of the korean nail polishes have numbers and letters as names. Ex: PK3637
So to save time, I didn't type those out. Just indicate from left to right (or whatever plugs your tub, whatever floats your boat, whatever roasts your chestnuts or whatever wraps your wontons, ummm you get the picture) and say which bottle. Easy peasy lemon sqeezy? :)

These are are unused. The Missha ones are the same polish. From left to right, the first one is full and the other is 80% full. I say missing cos it just came like that. Fuso red and Fuso Red Glitter. Honey Sweet blue/gray. All this are unswatched and new.
From left to right, Sally Hansen Spell (70% full), Sally Hansen Lavender Envy (swatched), Pedicure White (80% left), Sally Hansen Black Out (Used for frankening only), Sally Hansen True Love (Swatched once) and Revlon Copperglaze Platinum (swatched once).
These Rainbow polishes are nameless. But click to enlarge. These are brought new. This is my personal collection. Just state Top picture or bottom.

My ever-classic Skinfood pedicure range. I swear by these guys. They are are really great one-coaters. I will get these new.
Who says blue and green should never be seen? These beauties are screaming out for ya! The green in the middle is a yummy jelly. Click to enlarge and yes, these will be new. :)
Hot hot hot! The orange is lovely and (top picture, last bottle on the right) is a beautiful red shimmer. These will be bought new.

The bottle with the gold cap is my favourite rose gold one. People have said they don't see the gold. I don't know why I say rose gold either sometimes, it's just the shade and I can't explain it. :) The black for this range requires 3 coats (Just a warning :)) But it dries to a nice glossy black. Yes! More new bottles!

Soooooooo... Any questions?

If you want to swap please just let me know. Rainbow and Skinfood is an 'endless' supply. However, if I do head out to the shops, and they don't have the colour that you want, I'm not giving you mine. ^^ I will try my best to source it from either Singapore or Malaysia. So you might have to give me a bit of time.

The other brands is first come, first served. I only have a bottle of each and those are colours I don't like on myself. >,<

I must also figure out how to put this as a link or another page. My html skills do not exist. And I can slaughter zombies, kill hordes of ogres and have a couple of lucky headshots... But I can't create webpages...

*sigh*

But seriously, have fun browsing and just leave me questions in the comments section.

I will get back to ya ASAP! ^^

NOTD: Sally Hansen True Love 66

Why is True Love the number 66? Since my nails are nubbins *growl*, I decided to go for a light neutral colour.
It's soooooo not me.
2 coats. Light and shimmery. Very safe. Bah. The middle finger is still red and a bit sore. It's growing but very very slowly. Maybe I'm just impatient.

Bonus Pictures!

Sleeping Cookie. She looks so sweet when she's not grumpy.

I'm sorry this looks so gross. Floppy was sleeping. Not dead despite the picture. He was almost impossible to wake up til dinner :) Then he was up like a flash.

More Polishes and an update

Work has exploded. And because of my extreme procastination of paperwork, I am suffering now. I deserve it though. No one to blame but meself.

And yes, about comments. I am a tech idiot/moron/dimwit/dumbo. I stupidly turned on 'No comments allowed'. But it should all be working now. *cross fingers*

But yes, on to happier things. I am shopping tomorrow for my giveaway. And I have decided to have 2 prizes! A grand prize *drumroll* and a mini prize! Rules and such at a later date.

And I shall have to give thanks to my good friend Ash(not her real name). She *sniff sniff* shifted back to Canada a few days back and I'm going to miss her loads. Although I'm seeing her in December, cos I'm planning on spending Christmas in Vancouver! Ohhhhhh, Claires! But I digress.

Since my darling Mama Ash was leaving, she gave me her mini nail polish hoard.

So I have 16, almost new, polishes! (Including a mini Sui ^^ ) Ash buys polishes I would never buy for myself. In case you haven't noticed, I love bright polishes, especially green and purple. Ash is a classy classic chick. So, her stash is mostly pinks, pales and bright chilli reds. But it's lovely! Thanks honey!

(L to R) Revlon 751 Blackberry, Revlon 680 Revlon Red (classic), Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear 24 Blackout, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear 11 Lavender Envy, Sally Hansen Diamond Strength 66 True Love, Sally Hansen Diamond Strength 37 Beautiful Blossom, Sylvie Biggest Collection 11j, Sylvie Biggest Collection 15j, Rimmel 60secs 640 Twinkle, Rimmel 60 secs 819 Green with envy, Anna Sui (gush) 14b, Canmake 8011, Canmake 8022, OPI Done out in Deco, Honey Sweet Long Stay 160, Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Spell.
Hope you like this post! ^^ And much love to Romika and Skulda! Thanks ladies for pointing out the comments issue. And I do read your blogs! ^^ I just prefer bookmarking blogs rather than following. Which I have only recently learnt to do. You guys are the greatest! *blows kisses*

Bonus Pictures: My 2 dogs

Cookie! And Floppy! They are both impossible to photograph. Typical animals move to much. Floppy's picture is a bit dark but I am useless at photshop.

First Franken Attempt

I have had Sally Hansen Lime Lights Hard As Nails for the longest time. I think it was the first green I ever got. Click for pic credit. Anyway, its a bit more shimmery and lighter than in the picture above.

But I hated the application, light goopy. It took forever to dry and even then... It required at least 4 coats for any colour to shine through. I used it for layering but finally, just gave up and it retreated to the back of my nail drawer.

Until..
Faceshop BL603 met gold L'Ocean Pearl Powder in Gold Dust. I dumped about a half teaspoon of powder in and possibly 15 drops of BL603. And...
It's soooo pretty. No amount of pictures would do it justice.

Forgive the lack of clean up. But this is one coat over my Skinfood Green Jelly manicure. It's frosty! Shall do pics soon of it on its own.

So what do you think?
