NOTD: Updated crackle nail polish

It's a black bottle of nail polish. Or is it? It's a crackle nail polish. I have been wanting one for the longest time, so when I saw this one, I went for it.
Please click for closeups of this crapiness. I was soooo disapointed. I don't know what I was expecting, but it was not streaks. It doesn't look 'cracky' but more like lines running down my nails. This was taken indoors with flash to show the 'effect' or lack there of.

Boooooooo... I think this is going into the swap pile. >,< Maybe it works better in non-tropical climates... It does dry SUPER fast so watch out for that.

And I was home this arvo, so I decided to bully my black dog, Floppy.

Yeah! I think he's rocking the pink!

PS I gave him a doggy treat to make up for the humiliation.

You can control the direction of the crackle. I like to paint the crackle polish on my nail and then swipe back and forth. The polish shrinks and crackles in the direction of the last swipes.

I have some photos of a swatch ring that I did some testing on. I will post the images once my computer is back up and running.

@Sawan I read about yr issues with your com! My heart goes out to you. I will try playing more with it. But the girl told me to just put one coat. So do you put the coat on then just swirl?

@mae ie art of nail I saw that post! That's why I wanted those crackling polishes so bad. Yours looks awesome! Like huge ass cracks! (joke intended)It's just that mine seems soooo skinny. I actually had my green mani under it. Not that you could really see...

Is this one really tough to remove? The one I had is a total pain. I remember Cover Girl or Maybelline used to make crackle polish. I keep hoping that the trend will come back around- scented polish has so I'll cross my fingers!

Well, that's disappointing. :(
Hopefully, you can work it out...when they cooperate, they look so cool!!

Yes. I do one thin coat and then swipe back and forth or quick zig zags. The coat needs to be thin and you can see the base color underneath it, but once it contracts and shrinks together it turns solid.

You have to paint a base coat underneath it...and put the crack polish on top of the base coat while it is still wet. The longer you wait (the drier the based coat), the smaller the cracks. Ideal time between base coat and crack coat (that I 've found) is about two minutes.
