Quick Thanks

Firstly, thanks to all those people who actually read my blog! :)

I thank all of you for tolerating my terrible photos. I have finally figured out my camera (thus the better quality pictures being churned out).

I might redo some of my earlier manicures (esp the Alice one) to get a better shot of it.

Any others one would like to see redone?

I'm feeling pretty confident these few days.

St Paddy Day Mani :)

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, this was my Paddy day mani. Used the Couleur I got and layered it with the La Girl. I love Crowd Surfing. It was little gold flakies floating in it! 1 coat of Couleur and 3 coats of the LA girl to get that flakey goodness.

Can't you just see the yummy shimmer?

This picture is a truer match to the actual colour. Shimmer hard to see.

And while I was doing all this. My noble hound, Cookie, was right by my side.

Ummmm... more like taking advantage of my absence and hogging the covers.

NOTD: Skinfood Purple With Glitter

1 coat of Skinfood. 3 layers of glitter. It's very fine colourful glitter from the Rainbow glitter nailpolish.

Franken: No. 2 (Unnamed)

Frankening is fun!

I used half a bottle of the blue and I added 8 drops of both yellows into the blue.

One yellow is a yellow-neon. The skinfood one is shimmery yellow.

So it added a lovely sheen to the new polish which turned out a nice shade of green.

Due to the Faceshop forumla, the nail polish is groopy. And it appiled unevenly. But I love the colour. However, it took 4 coats to have any colour shine through.

And the result of this pairing!

The ones without flash is a truer colour. You can see in the middle of the nail where the nail polish dribbled.

I am looking for a shop in Singapore that sells empty nail polish bottles. And mini ball bearings. ^^

I know there are a lot of sites online which do sell but with my international shipping costs, the bottles then go up almost 300% in price. To have a discount, I need to buy a minimum of 50 bottles.

What's a girl to do?

The Cloud And The Tree

the tree of course now understood

First Franken Attempt

I have had Sally Hansen Lime Lights Hard As Nails for the longest time. I think it was the first green I ever got. Click for pic credit. Anyway, its a bit more shimmery and lighter than in the picture above.

But I hated the application, light goopy. It took forever to dry and even then... It required at least 4 coats for any colour to shine through. I used it for layering but finally, just gave up and it retreated to the back of my nail drawer.

Until..

Faceshop BL603 met gold L'Ocean Pearl Powder in Gold Dust. I dumped about a half teaspoon of powder in and possibly 15 drops of BL603. And...

It's soooo pretty. No amount of pictures would do it justice.

Forgive the lack of clean up. But this is one coat over my Skinfood Green Jelly manicure. It's frosty! Shall do pics soon of it on its own.

So what do you think?

Rainbow Cheap Buy

This was cheap nail polish. I like the super multi-glitter one. It looks really similar to OPI's Mad as a Hatter nail polish. Except... for a lack of purple glitter. I need to buy some. *muah ha ha ha ha ha* Each bottle was Singapore $2. Maybe about US$0.90? Or a bit less.

Shall swatch soonish. ^.^ The blue-purple is awesome. I will take another picture soon in the sun.

NOTD: Skinfood Green Jelly BL 505

Yummy goodness! 2 coats. VNL. I'm intending to konad something orange on top later. And my camera (Canon Poweshot A1000 IS) doesn't do this polish justice. It doesn't do many of my pictures justice. Somehow, close shots are not it's forte. I need to find a solution.

But the colour is simliar but a bit more yellow in real life.

UPDATE:

The picture with flash is a bit more accurate. I realise suddenly it looks a bit like snot. It might be an 'ahead of time' dupe of OPI's Shrek Forever: Who the shrek are you? But until the collection comes out, we shall never know. ^.^

Concept Vs Execution (Off with her head!)

Hope the last post didn't scare you guys away. AH! NUDITY! >,<

Well, I attempted a sad-ass-lame attempt at a manicure today. I used OPI Suzi skies in the pyreness in suede and tried to do a french with OPI Jade is the new black on the tips.

Great concept. Execution, impossible. For me anyway.

It was groopy, uneven and I nicked and smudged all my fingers at least twice.

Also it looked more like tarmac next to a lawn. Not pretty. Very suburban. Not nice.

I refused to have photographs of it around so I did not take it this time. I will try one nail and show you guys how crappy it looked.

On the bright side, I caught Alice In Wonderland 3D!

It gave me a great idea for a themed manicure. And no, I will not be using ANY of OPI's Alice polishes. How? 

Just wait and see.... ^^

Naked Nails!

Yes, these are my bare nails. I need to use more cuticle oil. I'm using Burt's Bees lemon pledge smelling thingie. It's good but I'm waaaaay to lazy to use it more often. It's all my fault. :(

 

If my nails seem a bit blue it's cos I just cleaned off the Sephora nail polish. Time to change and update my nails in the morning. What colour should I go for next?
