High Fashion Photo Shoot or maybe not (^,^)

I headed out to the Marina Bay area with friends last night. I haven't stayed out til 5 in the morning for ages! Needless to say, I suffered today.

But here are some shots of me *cough cough* and my friends trying to do some high end fashion photo shoot type feel. hahah I didn't explain myself well at all!

The scene. The Singapore River overlooking Marina Sands the casino. On the 'boat' there is an infinity pool. It was where Katy Perry did her interview when she was in Singapore. In the pool.
Who that? It me!
Part of the Fullerton Hotel where we were.
No sharing!
GIMMMMMME!
Awwww... Young sweet love! The lesbian sort. Muah ha ah ha ha ha ha

It was heaps fun and some of the photos are a bit ummm not meant to be published EVER.

Like the maxi dress? I got it for a steal at just S$19! And can you spot some earrings? ^^

Lookie lookie!

Look what I have!

It's a little black box. With some little white words on it. And it spells...

Chanel!

Oh yes it does.

And it contains...

Earrings! They are pretty cute. Okay, I shall fess up. I didn't buy this. My mom's friend's daughter tends to buy a lot of things on impulse. Nice things. She also threw out a Juicy couture bag and a black JPG bag as well.

They are out for cleaning. But wow!

All that for free.

Would you ladies use anything second hand? Or are you like me and willing to take 'used-goods'? Or hand-me-downs?

PS: I know this girl doesn't buy anything fake.

Super Lucky Nails!

An old Rainbow colour!
In sunlight, 2 coats.
With flash!

And I got my place! :) I brought a 2 bedroom apartment! (^.^) I'm a homeowner and I was wearing this when I gave the cheque.

So yes, loans are settled. I just need to do a bit more paperwork and it will be done.

And bonus pictures

A moth in the gardern. I think it's an atlas moth. It was huge!
Look at this!

And I still can't believe I have a 30 year loan now. >,<

But I'm still happy!

NOTD: LA Girl's Head Banging

Hey ladies!

This is banging! I'm beginning to love the formula on these more than OPIs!
Ooooo SHimmer! I'm such a green fiend!

I fell asleep with wet nails thus the hair streaks. This is 2 coars and I kept it on for 4 days! There is tipwear but considering how rough I am, they stood up well.

And I am trying a new eye mask from Faceshop. It's a gel mask. My skin has been blotchy... So!
It's designed for the eye area. They are squishy at first, but after 30mins, the eye masks become drier and thinner, like paper. It's cool!
It smells divine too! As it should be, being that close to my nose. I'm going to use one once a week for a while and let's see if my eye bags get better. Only thing is that it's a bit expensive. $4.95 per use. Hmmm...

DISCLAIMER: I brought all of these on my own, with my own money. It's MY opinion.

Skinfood is toxic!

I was reading through blogs when I saw Wan's post about Skinfood is toxic.

For me it was, SAY IT ISN'T SO!

So I went to her link and read.

"Products involved are Skinfood Jojoba Pure Nail PK004 and Milk Creamy Nail Base Coat. The two products were found to contain 9.7 and 11 ppm of Benzene respectively."

What's Benzene?

"Methanol is highly toxic while there is an established link between Benzene and leukemia."

?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? says me.

I was shocked because Skinfood's other products thive on being 'fresh' and all natural.

If you want to read the whole article, click here.

Now, I'm just being optimistic and hoping it's just those 2, (which I don't own) but I somehow highly doubt it.

This is a sad sad day for me...
So, I know that bottle! Is Canmake affected too??????????????

Guest Nails: Ash's Pink Overload

Hi ladies!

I didn't do my bestie's nails but this is completely unlike her. She normally prefers a blood red manicure with black tips. And bling. Lots of bling.

So I was shocked, yet amused to see this femmy colour on her.

But it suits you Ash!

It's Pink-ing of you (opi)- base
Princesses rule! (opi)

I'm not sure how many coats. Ash, perhaps you could enlighten us?

NOW WORK THOSE FINGERS!
Ah huh! Oh yeah!

Smokin'! \(^.^)/

NOTD: Updated Electric Blue

Hi ladies!
I tried doing some nail art. Hmmmm... I don't know what to think about this. It's a bit streaky but I did take the picture while my nails were wet. With flash.

Without flash.
And I know the season is wrong but I figured the blue would be a perfect Xmas manicure in the future. So I tried and it turned out pretty cool. But I'm months too early!

NOTD: Skinfood Electric Blue

Hi ladies!

2 careful coats. The formula is smooth. But it did stain abit.
Both were taken in the light and without flash. For some reason, my paws looked pink in the second picture.
Taken with flash. This is the best representation of how blue it really is. I shudder about the cleanup later. I smell smurf hands.

And the winner is...

Candy Coated Tips! Jackie runs an awesome fun blog with polishes I constantly lemming!

So congrads babe! I have emailed ya! :)

To all the rest, I will have a small giveaway next month. So good luck for that! Thanks all for entering! I met so many cool and wonderful people here. ^^

Old NOTD: Ex-Lucky Nails and Some random cheap brand

Please forgive quality. I took this with my camera phone. This was my manicure when I was house hunting. I HAD bling but it fell off the first day. This was Depend's green and LA girl Matt white. I drew the tiny rainbow on. It looked much better 2 hours before I took this picture.
A nameless $1 bottle. It was a shimmery brown. Taken with flash.

Taken without flash. It looks greenish here but there is NO green in it to the naked eye. This was 2 coats.

Some bonus, funny pictures to come!

I was wandering round the supermarket late one night. I saw some funny funny things. So I took pictures.

First up, a pirated Barbie doll.
Drag queen much? Look what it says on the back.
She will bring you much infinite happiness! A must for just $14.90!
And while you are soooo full of infinite happiness, use this hoola hoop for joyful! Make me joyful as well! ^.^

We all need more happiness and joy, no?

My life according to Google

My life according to Google; Type in the following and choose from the first description found.... Be honest, don't just pick one out to be funny! (PS I am avoiding paper work at the moment)

I sense a plant theme somehow...

1: Type in "[name] needs" in the Google search:
During winter when your heat is on, many ferns need misting.

2: Type in "[name] looks like" in Google search:
Looks like a fern but is not, what is it?

3: Type in "[name] hates" in Google search:
My mom hates the name Fern. (no kidding!!!!!)

4: Type in "[name] goes" OR "[name] has gone" in Google search:
Little Ferns for Fanny's Little Friends. Now her husband has gone, and she sits down and covers her face with her hands, and weeps.

5: Type in "[name] loves" in Google search:
It's our love fern! Oh, Bennie-boo-boo, boo-boo

6: Type in "[name] eats" in Google search:
What eats a fern? caterpillars.

7: Type in "[name] has" in Google search:
Fern has a Flatshare, House Share for rent in Singapore.3 bed-rooms walk-up apartment - 2nd floor, 1600sqft - Peaceful environment. Lovely green compound surrounded by pine trees. - Private stairway
(Dream. PInes in Singapore though? Where?)

8: Type in "[name] works" in Google search:
Fernworks, Art and Resin Jewelry Handmade by Faryn Davis.

9: Type in"[name] lives" in Google search:
Find For All Their Lives by Fern Michaels (1991) in the Books category. (cheesy romance i bet)

10: Type in "[name] died" in Google search:
I have a dead fern hanging outside my front door. Why you ask? Well, it used to be alive. And at some point, birds decided to make a nest out of it. The fern died eventually and, without thinking, I took it down to throw it away. I was inside, looking out the window, and saw these birds flying around looking for it. I felt so bad! I went out and grabbed the fern that I had placed by the trash, and hung it back up. Now I get to watch the birds flying in and out of the fern as I sit at my desk looking out the window. The fern looks like crap, but the birds are cute.

11.Type in "[name] does" in Google search:
Fern Britton is causing a bit of a storm with her latest fashion choice - but we've discovered it's not the first time.

12: Type in "[name] will" in Google search:
Ostrich fern will tolerate some sun in northerly zone drained, acidic soil.

13.Type in "[name] is" in Google search:
Since ferns reproduce from spores, this law is not applicable to cultivated fern varieties.

Somehow not as many on plants as I thought. Sigh. I do like number 6 and 10. ^^

NOTD: Mac and Matt

Hi ladies!

So LA Alpine white (It's my all time fave white now. I need a backup bottle). It's white in 2 coats and you can make it shiny! And my lust item Mac's Blue India. I have had the bottle for ages but I finally did a manicure with it today.

Matt Alpine white: 2 coats. Mac Blue India: 2 coats. although 3 would have been better.
The sun is out! So i rushed out and took pics before my clean up. Opps. Anyway, I love the colour of the Mac Blue India. It's even better in real life. A dusky blue. But I wasn't too happy with application. It was a bit bubbly. And if you do a close up, you can see the bubbles and streaks. It's not my top coat. *sigh* But I love it so much.

My nails are Monets. Far from good, good from far. Geddit? Yeah, geddit? You don't? Oh well.
My workstation today was in the living room, much to my Mom's disgust. I have a day off cos it's a school holiday! Yeah for being a teacher!

Everyone else, have an awesome day! ^.^

Happy Birthday Singapore!

My country is 45 today!

And although it's not perfect, and I used to hate how confined I felt within this little country, I can now say, I'm glad to be here. To be home.

There are things to be improved and some things are just great. And others swept under the rug.

But, it wouldn't be Singapore if we didn't complain, would it? (Note: Singaporeans have a reputation of being whiners, whingers and complainers. I admit I'm gulity sometimes.)

This is the Singapore National Anthem. It's written in Malay and there is an English translation. If you are curious to learn more about Singapore, click HERE. It gives a nice concise background. And if you intend to visit Singapore, click here.

Now that I have shamelessly promoted my country, I'm moving on to the YOG.

YOG? What's that?

It's the Youth Olympic Games! The first one ever. And no one here is remotely excited. I feel bad at times that I'm not more tickled, but life goes on. I still have to work, live and play. It doesn't impact my life. But in case you are curious, this is the offical YOG song.

Starring:
Tabitha Nauser - Asia
Steve Appleton - Europe
Jessica Mauboy- Oceania
Jody Williams - Africa
Sean Kingston - Americas

It's starting soon! Is any television station in any country out there showing footage of the YOG? Please let me know. I really want to know what the world thinks (or even knows that this is going on)

PS Last day for GIVEAWAY! Link to enter ------->

Old NOTD: Frosty Goodness

Rainbow polishes were afoot again! Again, nameless and numberless. Nothing on the bottle to indicate anything.
With flash indoors. Most colour accurate.
VNL very visible. I used 3 thin coats. I don't like frosts but I keep buying them. *palm to face* And I HATE VNL. I think it's soooo ugly. Needless to say, this lasted on my nails for 5 minutes. Just to take pictures.

And some products I love. Note the pretty packaging!

Jill Stuart Fruit and Aroma Mist. Rose scented. It moistures the skin with just a spray! And it smells heavenly too. I do use this on occasion to set my makeup. Or before I apply my liquid foundation.
Anna Sui makeup base primer. It's a WONDER! If I use it, my foundation lasts alllll night, even with dancing and sweat. Plus, like all Anna Sui products, it smells so good. I love the scent of roses but I'm not too fond of the flavour.

PS I know I say frosty goodness, although I don't like the finish, but it is GOOD for a frost. I guess.
